The Product...

The Product

Due to the characteristics of the existing primary window, the Balanced Vertical Slider is the most complex type of secondary glazing system. It is applied generally to older properties. It is particularly suited to the refurbishment and upgrade of the nation's architectural heritage. This is the most common form of secondary glazing used in sash windows.

How it Works

The individually pre-tensioned spiral balances control the motion of the sash, enabling infinite vertical positioning of the secondary glazing panel. This design provides ease of movement and has been specially developed to withstand decades of wear and tear. Tilt in versions can be pivoted through almost 180 degrees. This is especially useful for cleaning but just as importantly can be crucial when considering fire escape requirements.

How do I get a Quotation?

In order to obtain a quotation you need to email us with - widths x heights x style (e.g. two panel vertical slider, three panel horizontal slider, hinged unit etc).

You would be well advised to have a good look at the options available and which of those suits your requirements for the final operation of the products.

Please Note:

Balanced units work on a spiral balance, this mechanism takes the weight of the "sash" making it very light to open and meaning that the "sash" will remain in any open position that you place it. On the non balanced version you take the weight of the "sash" and you engage a series of clips so that the "sash" can remain open, non balanced are fine for windows that you rarely open or are small in size, otherewise we recommend balanced units. Due to restrictions as a result of the spiral balance BVS units will not give you a full 50% clear opening where as VS units will give a full 50% clear opening.

If you require assistance call 01325 310520 or email info@secondaryglazing.com. Please Note: Quotations are only available via e-mail, however you can have as much technical advice via telephone from our technical department, who are always happy to help.
